Being a college student, it would be incredibly unwise of me to spend vast amounts of money on brand named clothing items. Of course there is absolutely nothing wrong with label names but when tuition and food are top priority, shopping tends to be put on the back burner. But who ever said you could not be fashionable on a budget?
Thrifting is becoming wildly more and more popular. Why go to an expensive store and spend $200, when I could easily go to a local consignment store and get WAY more for like $30? Jillgg's blog does not necessarily highlight clothing bought from thrifting, but it shows a variety of ways in which you could wear and pair key elements of your wardrobe to get that perfect, high fashion look. When I clicked on the link, I absolutely adored what I saw.
Not saying I will completely stop shopping at clothing stores because that would be a complete and utter lie. If I have extra money I will of course purchase a dress from Bebe, or a polo from Ralph Lauren, or even a new pair of heels from Steve Madden. But when I am being a responsible college student, who works for her money, I will definitely be resourceful and continue on my thrifting ventures.

Love, love love the way you've written this post and the blog you linked to it. What a great idea for college students. I definitely love my Steve Madden shoes, but there's nothing better than a fashionable bargain. Really enjoyed reading this post and the catchy title definitely drew me in! Short and sweet and to the point.
ReplyDeleteLove this post! Especially since I love fashion and I love thrifting. I like everything you tied together about loving to shop but also saving money. An easy read and it was written well. I will be sure to check this blog out.
ReplyDeleteI like the title that you chose for your blog. It's clever and attention-grabbing. This is definitely a good idea instead of blowing tons of money on name brands. It's funny that you mentioned bebe because I worked there for a year and a half. I just stocked up on all the cute clothes and accessories I could see since it was all half off!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post for students that love fashion. One thing that I love to do is to look at a designer piece that I like and find a replica for way cheaper. You can check out Marshalls and TJ Maxx stores there are stores located in West Ashley. I found a skirt that was exactly the same as a BB Dakota skirt for $100 but I paid $10. I also found an Rampage dress for $20 that looked like a $65 Bebe dress this past weekend. Great Job!!
ReplyDeleteThis post speaks to me because I am a bit of a shopaholic and it does not help that King St is right around the corner from my dorm. I try to shop at thrift stores whenever I can so I feel that this blog would be helpful to me to learn to piece stylish things together while keeping to a budget.
ReplyDeleteI can completely relate to this blog. Being a college student and mom of two, I have to cut corners wherever I can. You should check out the thrift store Uptown Cheapskate in Mount Pleasant, great store. You can buy and sell some of your gently used clothes. They have everything, and great higher end brands for low prices. Great Post!
